The ITF 29th Congress

With the attendance of up to 220 National Representatives from 75 countries, the 29th ITF Congress was held on Oct 6, 2025 in Jesolo, Italy. Following the review of activities of the OC of the 23rd and 24th ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships, and ITF Taekwon-Do World Cup-2026, were discussed other pending issues to promote the ITF including its participation in the BRICS Games to be held in June 2026.

Meeting of the Board of Directors of International Martial Art Fund held

The Meeting of the Board of Directors of the International Martial Art Fund was held on Oct 7, 2025 in Jesolo, Italy. Present in the meeting were Prof. Ri Yong Son, President of IMGC, IMGC EB members, Directors of IMAF and personages concerned. In the meeting, the activity of IMAF was reviewed, some articles of IMAF Statutes were amended and supplemented, and other pending issues in further revitalizing its work, was discussed.

IMGC appointed the President of the Afghanistan National Martial Art Games Committee

The IMGC appointed Mr. Samir Rahmani to the post of the President of Afghanistan National Martial Art Games Committee under IMGC in September 2025. The newly appointed President is authorized by the IMGC to organize and arrange all legal martial arts activities within the territory of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

India Martial Art Federation

From 29-31 August, “20th South & West India Taekwon-Do ITF Championship” was held at Mountfort Auditorium, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. With the attendance of 4 969 athletes and officials from 184 schools and 69 clubs of Delhi, “36th Delhi State Junior, Adult, Senior and Veteran & 20th Delhi State Sub-Junior ITF Taekwon-Do Championship” was held from 21-23 August in Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium.

The Arab Martial Art Games Committee receives Official Recognition from the IMGC

The Arab Martial Art Games Committee headed by Prof. Walid Kassas, Vice President of the IMGC, was officially recognized by the IMGC as its regional body in July 2025. Hence, the Arab Martial Art Games Committee authorized by the IMGC to arrange all martial arts activities as well as legal ones, formally started its work, and as a part of its activity, it will hold its 7th Arab Kowat Alrami Championship in the coming November in Manah, Bahrain.

National Martial Arts All-star Competition

National Martial Arts All-star Competition was held. From 7-18 July, over 550 athletes from all provinces of DPR Korea took part in the event to compete in Taekwon-Do, Karate, Wushu, Paduk/Go and Korean Chess disciplines.

The 2nd Southeast Asia Taekwon-Do Championship-2025

“The 2nd Southeast Asia Taekwon-Do Championship-2025”was held from 27-30 June in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. 200 athletes, coaches and officials from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam participated in the event.

Jeet Kune Do National Competition

Jeet Kune Do National Competition was held in Uzbekistan from 13-15 June with the attendance of 300 athletes and officials from Tashkent and 12 other cities.

IMGC President visited the IMGC HQ

Prof. Ri Yong Son, President of IMGC & ITF, visited the IMGC HQ on June 11, 2025 to hold the meeting with the officials of IMGC Secretariat. In the meeting were discussed important issues arising in the activities of IMGC: selecting the venue of the 10th IMG and reporting it to EB members and member organizations until the year-end; taking urgent measures to intensify the propaganda of the activities of member organizations that are in brisk move all over the world through website; submitting the affiliation of some international martial arts organizations to the IMGC to the EB.

Competitions in commemoration of Bruce Lee

International Jeet Kune Do Federation held its competitions in commemoration of Bruce Lee in Bukhara, Uzbekistan from 18-22 May, 2025. About 250 athletes and officials from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan participated in the event.
